Are you experienced in IT Infrastructure with a knowledge of using Linux?

About the role
Initially focusing on SAP technologies, with future scope to also work on other elements of our data platforms as the Society’s Data Strategy progresses, you’ll provide 3rd line support for services within this area, dealing with incidents and problems which at times will require working with other teams or third parties to resolve.
You will manage support and service delivery, ensuring systems are fit for purpose by monitoring capacity, availability and performance.
Key responsibilities will include performing upgrades, patching, new system installations, performance monitoring & tuning, and user security.
What will I bring to the role?
You will have a can do attitude, be ready to work in a change environment and will have a technical, analytical mindset.
You will also have experience in:
-Operating system platform SuSE Linux
-Evaluating data systems
-Managing incidents and problems with a working knowledge of change, incident and problem management techniques.
-Evaluating new products, upgrades and patches.
-SAP Hana Database / SAP Business Objects would be advantageous but not essential
