The starting salary for this role is £40,227 per annum for working 36 hours per week.
Our administrative bases are in Reigate (Woodhatch Place), in Lewes (County Hall) and in Hove (Town Hall). Some travel to the other offices is required from time to time.

Orbis is a shared services partnership between Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council, and Brighton and Hove City Council. Overall, the councils spend around £1.6bn with external suppliers for everything from software to social care services and from cleaning products to sports equipment. We have a large Procurement Service which supports customers to deliver better value from our contracts and ensure we source our contracts in an open, fair and transparent way.
Strategic Procurement Teams provide direct localised support to our customers, providing expertise on tendering activity and contributing to the delivery of service objectives, savings and other benefits, including social value.
As a Procurement Manager, you will be required to support on defined projects across a range of category areas, to secure the goods, works and services that most appropriately address the identified needs of our customers, residents and partners. You may be asked to support projects in other partner councils, based on demand.

We currently have vacancies for a number of permanent and fixed term roles and are interested in a wide range of skills, experience and capabilities, particularly those with a background in Waste, IT, Property, Transport and Infrastructure as well as Social Care.

Previous experience in public sector procurement is not essential and we welcome applications from experienced procurement professionals from other sectors. The successful candidate is expected to be aware of the implications of working within a public sector environment and how this affects purchasing strategies and practices
